Electric drum, due to unreasonable design or welding during the design process, may cause cracks in the equipment during short-term operation. Even if the cracks caused by equipment reasons are repaired later, they will still appear after a period of use. Therefore, the product needs to avoid cracks as much as possible during later use at the beginning of design.
(1) Optimize the welding process for equipment usage
Sometimes, the materials used in the production of wheels and cylinders are different. At this time, it is generally recommended to weld a transition layer on the surface of the wheel hub with high carbon content; At this point, it is generally necessary to use alkaline electrodes with good fire resistance. In terms of welding process, it is generally necessary to choose the method of preheating the workpiece for welding, and some are welded together symmetrically; The overall heating after welding has the effect of eliminating residual stress.
(2) Optimize welding structure
In order to avoid excessive stress concentration during welding, the surface of the weld seam should be welded into a concave surface so that it can smoothly transition to the surface of the base material. The styles of joints and grooves need to be selected differently according to the electric drum. A certain number of openings in the spoke plate can also reduce the constraint stress at the welding position and improve the stiffness of the spoke plate. Generally, three or so openings are more suitable. A reasonable casting and welding structure can avoid cracks in the welds between the spoke plate, cylinder, and hub as much as possible;
